Girls’ Lacrosse
  • Archbishop Carroll Agnes Irwin 17, Springside 9 - Olivia Goodman powered the Owls with five goals. Katie Nelligan added four goals and one assist, while Caroline Keating had three goals and one assists.
  • Notre Dame 23, Penn Charter 8 - Kelly McCallion led a high-powered attack with four goals and three assists. She was one of five players to score at least three times to pace the Irish (14-4, 8-3) to an Inter-Ac League victory. Bridget Burnshad five goals.
  • Radnor 20, Strath Haven 11
  • Springfield Delco 13, Bayard Rustin 3
  • Unionville 21, Boyertown 12: Lizzy Riondet and Lindsey Smith each scored four goals as Unionville ruised past Boyertown in a District 1 tournament consolation-round game. Lisa Riondet added three goals and three assists for Unionville, which qualified for the state tournament with the victory, while Erica Midiri and Julie Moran each scored three goals. The Indians led by three, 11-8, at the half before pulling away with a 10-4 margin in the second half. Lyndsey Babilon led Boyertown, which lost for the second straight game, with three goals and one assist, Sam Mazzie and Sarah Bennett each scored two goals while Lisa Spitko, Raelynn Mikell, Emily Austerberry, Jordie Heidelbaugh and Jaime Vincent tallied one apiece. Goalie Lindsay Clinton posted six saves. The Bears have one more chance to qualify for states in the district's seventh-place game against Abington on Thursday at West Chester Henderson. Aimee Gennaro paced a balanced attack with three goals as Archbishop Carroll blasted Conwell-Egan, 18-1, Tuesday evening in the semifinal round of the District 12/Catholic League girls lacrosse semifinals at Swarthmore College. The victory sent the Patriots (13-5) into Thursday’s final at Swarthmore against Archbishop Wood, a 17-4 winner over Cardinal O’Hara. Carroll and Wood square off at 5 p.m. Kait Harris, Maggie Mauer, Ryan Yankowicz and Genni Hull added two goals each.

  • Collegium Charter 9, Delaware Valley Friends 1 - Alex Sarcione notched a hat trick to lead Delaware Valley Friends past visiting Collegium Charter, 9-1, in a Tri-County League quarterfinal playoff game.
  • La Salle 16, Roman Catholic 2 - Christian Cardinal scored four goals and Andrew D’Addona made nine saves in three quarters of work as the North champion Explorers (16-4) cruised into the finals. LaSalle led 8-0 after the first quarter.
  • Phelphs 9, Kimberton-Waldorf 2 - Ryan May scored four goals as Phelps beat visiting Kimberton Waldorf, 9-2.
  • St. Joe's Prep 9, Archbishop Wood 2 - Colin Fleming poured in six goals as the Hawks (16-1) advanced to the Catholic League (District 12) finals to meet La Salle, a 16-2 winner over Roman Catholic. The teams will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Swarthmore for the title and the lone District 12 state berth. Kenny Lankford added a goal and two assists for The Prep while Brad James and Jeff Heath each had one goal. Cory Scheuerle had two assists and Ian Correia had one assist, while Mike Zikoski had seven saves and Jake O'Brien won 10 of 15 face-offs
Girls’ Lacrosse
  • Conwell-Egan 12, Little Flower 11 (CE: Kate Ryan 6g, Ashley Pope 4g. LF: Kathleen Moffett 5g) - In another quarterfinal, Conwell-Egan defeated Little Flower, 12-11, as Molly Mitchell scored the game-winner with 3 minutes, 20 seconds left. Kate Ryan had six goals to lead the Eagles.
  • Card O'Hara 17, Card. Dougherty 9 - Cardinal O'Hara's lacrosse team is getting familiar with the grounds of Swarthmore College. The Lions knocked off Cardinal Dougherty in a Catholic League playoff quarterfinal there yesterday, 17-9, and will return to the venue tonight for a league semifinal against Archbishop Wood. The prize for a win would be a third trip to Swarthmore in four days, for the league title. The Lions (14-3 overall, 11-2 league) disposed of Dougherty thanks to six goals from Amanda Mattera and four from Megan George. Cardinal O'Hara goalie Michelle Miller had 10 saves.
  • Episcopal Acad. 18, Baldwin School 6 - Kelly Moore and Taylor Trimble each scored four goals as Episcopal Academy won at Baldwin, 18-6, to clinch 5th straight Interac title
  • Perkiomen School 18, Delaware Valley Friends 12 - Lailah Carter led Perkiomen with five goals and two assists as the Indians easily took the Tri-County League semifinals victory. Christe Thomas added three goals and three assists and Jena Pirri also scored three goals. Tiffany Granger and Serena Meaze each scored two, while Isabelle Bade, Mary Lawrence, and Yaminah Carter each chipped in one for Perkiomen. Amnesty Yurek recorded 12 saves for the Indians, who advanced to the championship game Thursday.

  • Central Bucks East 12, West Chester East 7
  • Conestoga 10, Garnet Valley 4 - Conestoga wore gold shoe laces in honor of former Conestoga attackman, Mark Herzlich, who announced earlier this week that he had been diagnosed with Ewing's sarcoma, a type of bone cancer. Mark, a linebacker with Boston College, earned ACC Player of the Year on defense, was a finalist for the Butkus Award and is considered one of the finest collegiate football players in the country. Mark has returned to Philadelphia to battle his illness and is starting his treatment; his younger brother, Brad, is an attackman on the Stoga squad. On behalf of the entire Philadelphia lacrosse community, we wish Mark a full and speedy recovery; our thoughts and prayers are with him and his family, and we look forward to seeing him again on the gridiron wearing Maroon and Gold.

  • Bayard Rustin 13, North Penn 12, OT - Julie Tatios scored the game-winning goal for Rustin in overtime to lift her squad to a 13-12 victory over North Penn in the PIAA District 1 quarterfinals. Tatios also tallied the equalizer with 11 seconds remaining in regulation to send the game into the extra session. North Penn: Lauren McDermott 5g; Abbie Hartman 4g; Dani Horn 1g, 2a; Alyssa Culp 1g; Stacey Pellechia 1g; Lyndsay Hepler 13 saves.
  • Germantown Friends 15, Shipley 7 - Host Germantown Friends got six goals from Betsy Sachs in a 15-7 Friends Schools League title-clinching win over Shipley. The Tigers (14-4), who also won last year's crown, also got four goals from Lydia Kring and three goals and six draw controls from Iris Williamson.

  • Springfield-Delco 17, Abington 10 - Led by a game-high six goals from Sammy Tulskie, Springfield-Delco defeated Abington 17-10 in the quarterfinal round of the District 1 playoffs. Madison Poplawski added four scores for Springfield and teammate Shannon Burns notched a pair of goals and five assists. Springfield will next take on Bayard Rustin on Tuesday at a site and time to be determined.   • Strath Haven 10, Unionville 6 - Ana White scored four goals and Emily Garrity added two goals and four assists, while Annalise Penikis had two goals and one assist to lead Strath Haven to a 10-6 victory over Unionville today in the District 1 girls’ quarterfinals at West Chester East. The win advanced the fifth-seeded Panthers (17-3) into the semifinals Tuesday against the winner of today’s Radnor-Boyertown contest, also at WC East. Strath Haven’s defense was led by Claure Sherry and Kim McClellan. Garrity also had three interceptions. Erica Midiri led the fourth-seeded Indians (17-3) with three goals and Melissa Lloyd made 14 saves. Unionville will play Tuesday in a play-back game against the Radnor-Boyertown loser. The top seven teams advance to the first Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association (PIAA) playoffs. Boys' Lacrosse

  • Haverford School 16, Germantown Academy 5 - Stephen Aitken, Joe O’Rourke, Zach Rego, Chris Hupfeldt and Will McNamara each scored two goals, while defender Stocky Euler and midfielder Liam O’Connor earned Toyota Stars of the Game honors as Haverford School toppled Germantown Academy, 16-4, Friday in the inaugural Inter-Ac League tournament semifinals at Cabrini College. The win boosted the Fords (15-8) into the Inter-Ac finals Wednesday (7 p.m.) against Malvern Prep, which earned a hard-fought 8-6 triumph over Episcopal Academy in the other semifinal. Will Horrocks added a goal and two assists for Haverford while Euler, Matt Walters, Tom Shihadeh, Brendan McGrath and Bill Annesley each scored once. Grove Stewart contributed two assists. Haverford and Malvern Prep tied for the league title with 6-2 records. Beau Jones (two goals) was the Toyota Star of the Game for the Patriots, who finished the year 6-12.

  • Malvern Prep 8, Episcopal Academy 6 - Bobby Hill (midfield) and Wills Curley (goalie) earned Toyota Stars of the Game honors for the Friars (11-8), who advanced to the finals by topping the Churchmen (13-8). Matt Lerman (goaltender) was the Toyota Star of the Game for EA.
  • Roman Catholic 18, Archbishop Carroll 7 (RC: Patrick Weiler 5 goals) - Roman Catholic scored eight goals in the second period en route to winning a Catholic League opening-round playoff game. For the Patriots (7-10), Brian Keith paced the scoring attack with two goals. Andrew Johnson, Ryan Flynn, Brian Shea, Joe Larraro and Gary Pergolini all netted one goal.

They play at Shipley Saturday (2 p.m.) for thetitle Archbishop Wood 16, Lansdale Catholic 5 - Sean Lindenmuth tallied five goals and Mike Maxwell added four as the Vikings moved into the Catholic League (District 12) semifinals. Vince Furlong added three goals while Dustan Mangan and Sean McCartney each had two and Ben Worthington posted 10 saves. Liam Malley led LC with three goals. Wood will meet South champion St. Joseph's Prep Tuesday in the semis.

  • Central Bucks East 12, Unionville 8 - Central Bucks East 12, Unionville 8: Joe Lesicky's three goals weren't enough for Unionville (12-5) in the District 1 playoff game. Hunter Thomas, Tyler Simmigran and Greg Carroll were other standouts for the Indians, while Grady Stevens won 18 faceoffs. Unionville goals: Lesicky 3, Donovan 2, Bacci 2, Kaiser. C.B. East goals: Hughes 5, Sharmen 2, Vitzer 2, O'Brien, McSherry, Fetterman; Goalie saves: Mallya (U) 12; Kulva (CBE) 11.
  • Conestoga 14, Strath Haven 1 - Paul Mita scored five goals as the top-seeded Pioneers advanced to the quarterfinals.
  • Dowingtown East 14, Pennsbury 4 - D-East (17-2) made its first District 1 playoff game a successful one as Kenny Maas fired in four goals, and Shane Sturgis netted three goals and added three assists. Midfielder tacked on Rocco Piliero two goals. The Cougars, seeded second, will take on seventh-seeded Lower Merion in the quarterfinals on Saturday. Pennsbury goals: Warren, Delaney, Mager, unavailable. Downingtown East goals: Maas 4, Sturgis 3, Piliero 2, Zelinski 2, Lauletta 2, Kraft; Goalie saves: Shubert (P) 7; Normoyle (DE) 5, Barth (DE) 3.
  • Garnet Valley 9, Hatboro-Horsham 4 - Eric Warden, Mike Montella and Steve Smyrl each tallied twice as the ninth-seeded Jaguars advanced. Jarett Carr scored twice for the Hatters.

  • Lower Merion 13, Upper Dublin 3 - Matt Dilks collected five goals and two assists while Andrew Mongeluzzi had four goals and one assist as the seventh-seeded Aces cruised. Jordan Wolf added two goals and two assists and Ahmad Zachary had a goal and two assists. Joey Shallow scored once. Cody Hornung and Hank Altschuler each posted five saves in the goal. Jimmy Trentini led the Cards with a goal and two assists while Tim Duke and Eric Breuninger each scored once.

  • Shipley 8, Friends Central 3 - Julius Mouser tallied three goals as the top-seeded Gators moved into the Friends' Schools League finals. They host Academy of the New Church Saturday at2 p.m.

  • St. Joe’s Prep 15, Cardinal O’Hara 2 - Brendan Glynn had five goals and two assists and Colin Fleming collected fourgoals and three assists as the The Prep rolled into the Catholic League(District 12) semifinals. Cory Scheuerlehad two goals and an assist and Kenny Lankford had a goal and three assists.
  • Valley Forge 10, Collegium Charter 4
  • West Chester East 8, Radnor 5 - Matt Maday scored four goals and Andrew Protenic added three as 13th-seeded West Chester East pulled the upset by stunning No. 4 seed Radnor, 8-5, in a District 1 second-round boys lacrosse playoff contest. Chris McCormick chipped in with a goal and two assists for the Vikings, who improved to 15-3, but it was an outstanding defensive effort that sealed the deal for East. Chris Saggese, Jim Barr, Kurt Smith, Killian White, Zach Lieb and Tim Kulp threw a blanket over the Red Raiders, whose every shot was hotly contested. And most of the shots that did manage to find their way on net were met by Viking keeper Justin Laxton, who turned away 18 Radnor attempts. East will be back in action Saturday against Central Bucks East, a 12-8 winner over Unionville, at a site and time to be determined. W.C.   • Abington 10, Downingtown East 9 – Abington 10, Downingtown East 9: Downingtown East (12-8) came close to pulling off the District 1 playoff upset, but a last-second shot that would have tied the game went just wide. Kelly Devlin and Kelli Joran led the offense as they both netted three goals. Allie Murray was solid in goal with support from Melissa Hummel, Ali May, Marielle Ramsay and Haley Swartz. owningtown East goals: Devlin 3, Joran 3, Blye 2, Poli; Aington goals: Ashby 4, Cox 2, Cooper 2, Fitzgerald, Evans. Goalie saves: Murray (DE) 26; Aquilino (A) 10.
  • Bayard Rustin 19, Downingtown West 11
  • Boyertown 16, Upper Dublin 10 - Emily Austerberry and Rachel Hilbert each had three goals and Lyndsey Babiloncollected two goals and five assists while Lindsay Clinton posted 15 saves asthe eighth-seeded Bears advanced to the quarterfinals. Amy Cross led the Cardinals with three goals.
  • Episcopal Acad 17, Agnes Irwin 10 - The Churchwomen (17-5, 10-1) raced to a 9-1 halftime lead and clinched at least a tie for the Inter-Ac League title as Taylor Trimble had four goals, two assists, eight groundballs and three interceptions and Kate Ivory had four goals and five draw controls. Kelley Moore added three goals and seven groundballs and Megan Spagnola contributed three goals and an assist while Avery Curley added one goal, one assist and two interceptions. Alexa Buckley and Allie Fuchs each added one goal for EA while Sammi Arbitman (two assists, one INT), Ashley McCormick (one INT) and Caitlin powers (five saves) paced the defense. EA can clinch the crown by defeating second-place Baldwin Monday.
  • Germantown Academy 19, Notre Dame 16 - Olivia Mann poured in seven goals while Kate Henrich collected six goals and for assists as the Patriots (15-11, 7-5) shocked Fighting Irish (13-4, 7-3). Sidney Jacobs added four goals and an assist for GA while Maggie Ebbott and Aldex Farris each scored once and Mia Jordan had two assists. Katie Blumenthal and Kelly McCallion each netted four goals for Notre Dame while Kristen Bandos and Bridget Burns had three goals each. Isabel Manmade nine saves.
  • North Penn 14, Villa Maria 9 - Abbie Hartman pumped in six goals and Lauren McDermott had four goals and two assists to lead the second-seeded Maidens to the victory. Dani Horn, Alyssa Culp, Stacey Pellechia and Kaitlin Colbridge each added one goal and Lyndsey Hepler made 13 saves for North Penn.

  • Southern Lehigh 12, Nazareth 11 - SL: GOALS: Brooke Bornemen 4, Sophia Pifer 2, Maura McGlone 2, Lindsey Derstine, Julia Nemeth, Sam Risi, Katie Johnson. ASSISTS: Derstine 5, Nemeth, McGlone, Pifer. SHOTS: 25. SAVES: Emily Saeger 12. N: GOALS: Amy Rydeen 4, Amanda Denger 2, Bianca Broncaleane 2, Lindsey Whipple, Emma Fitzgibbens, Hilary Halecz. ASSISTS: Brancaleane, Denger, Rydeen. SHOTS: 26. SAVES: Chantelle Krock 11. Southern Lehigh wins LVGL championship. Maura McGlone scored the game-winning goal with 7.8 seconds to go.
  • Springfield-Delco 15, Merion Mercy 14 - Madison Poplawski collected three goals and three assists and Shannon Burns scored three times as third-seeded Springfield-Delco survived a scare from Merion Mercy and claimed a 15-14 victory Thursday in the second round of the District 1 girls’ lacrosse tournament. The Cougars (18-2)will face sixth-seeded Abington – a 10-9 winner over Downingtown East – in the quarterfinals Saturday at West Chester East. Sammy Tulskie added two goals and three assists for Springfield-Delco while Val Paolucci, Courtney Kennedy and Lindsey Kennedy each had two goals. Janal Folkomer made seven stops in goal. Emily Corcoran led Merion Mercy with a standout game, notching six goals and two assists. Meg Corzel added three goals. Freshman goalie Caili Guilday also had a strong game, posting 11 saves.
  • Strath Haven 16, Ridley 8 - Annalise Penikis erupted for six goals, Ana White scored four times and Emily Garrity collected two goals and seven assists as the fifth-seeded Panthers prevailed over their Central League rivals. Jenna Massimo led Ridley with three goals.
  • Unionville 10, Conestoga 8 - Lindsey Smith netted four goals and Julie Truluck and Lisa Riondet added a pair to lead the fourth-seeded Indians. Taylor Malloey led the Pioners with three goals and Kaitlin Hildebrand added two.

  • Archbishop Carroll 18, Kennedy-Kenrick 1 - Ryan Flynn scored four goals and Brian Keith netted three goals and dished out three assists for the Patriots (7-9, 4-2). Andrew Johnson and Joe Lerario each recorded a hat trick, while keepers Jason Cuzzupe and Tom Mitchell combined for seven saves.

  • Chestnut Hill Academy 11, West Chester Rustin 4 - Dante LaRuffa struck for a hat trick and helped Chestnut Hill Academy get past visiting West Chester Rustin, 11-4. Greg Quillian chipped in with two goals and two assists for the Blue Devils.
  • Conrad Weiser 17, Exeter 5 - Corey Elmer scored four goals and had two assists as Conrad Weiser routed Exeter 17-5 in a District 3 Class AAAA first-round lacrosse game Tuesday night at Robesonia. Mike Oliveto, Pete Antosy, Adam Showalter and Curtis Shook each had two goals for the fourth-seeded Scouts (19-2), who will play fifth-seeded Hempfield in the second round Saturday at 1 p.m. at Gov. Mifflin Stadium. The Black Knights beat Cumberland Valley 16-4 in an opening-round game Tuesday. Dino Kotsakis had one goal and three assists for Weiser, which led 9-3 at the half. Sean Flamm and Jake Hennessy each had a goal and assist for 13th-seeded Exeter (10-8).
  • Downingtown West 5, Ridley 4 - The Whippets’ Jamie Raezor scored three times to make Ridley’s postseason ride a short but tough one. The Green Raiders (10-9) scored twice late to put a scare into the Whippets. Ridley received goals from Dan Stranix, Tyler Johnston, Pat Zimmerman and Kevin Garling. Ryan Higgins scored twice for Downingtown West, which received 12 saves from goalie Robbie Keene.

  • Strath Haven 7, Central Bucks West 6 (OT) - Nick DeCindis scooped up a ground ball, beat two defenders then fired a cross-field pass to Mark Dolphin, whose low shot found net and lifted Strath Haven to a thrilling, 7-6 overtime victory Tuesday over Central Bucks West in a District One Class AAA boys lacrosse game. That late home celebration victory gifted the Panthers (9-10) with a second-round meeting with Conestoga Thursday. It might not have happened if goalkeeper Will Torrence (11 saves) hadn’t made a huge stop in overtime. “The goaltender played fantastic,” Strath Haven coach Dave Waldman said. “And I thought we played with great hustle and heart in the middle of the field.” Dave Alyankian scored three goals for Haven, while Dolphin added two. Sean McGraw and Jim Battel had the other Panther goals.

  • Cardinal O’Hara 15, Archbishop Ryan 4 - Amanda Mattera’s five goals paced the Lions, who improved to 11-3 overall. Megan George found the back of the net three times, while Steph McCoy and Alecia Goviannicci scored two apiece. Michelle Miller stopped seven shots between the pipes.

  • North Penn 17, Garnet Valley 4 - In a first-round game, host North Penn, the No. 2, jumped out to a 13-1 halftime lead and coasted to a 17-4 win over No. 31 Garnet Valley behind Abbie Hartman's eight goals. The Maidens also got four goals and four assists from Lauren McDermott. Colleen O'Malley scored six goals and added a pair of assists as host and 16th-seeded Great Valley overwhelmed No. 17 Central Bucks South, 16-4.
  • Notre Dame Acad, PA 13, Episcopal Academy, PA 12 (OT) - Kristen Bandos, a freshman, scored the winning goal in overtime as Notre Dame topped Episcopal Academy, 13-12. Bandos led the Irish attack with five goals, Maggie Corcoran netted four and Kelly McCallion tossed in three. Sammi Arbitman scored four goals and Megan Spagnola registered a hat trick for the Churchmen.

  • Radnor 25, Interboro 1 - The top-seeded Red Raiders grabbed a 10-goal lead 12 minutes into the contest, had a 17-0 advantage at halftime and had no trouble remaining undefeated (18-0). Allie Martin scored five goals, Kelyn Freedman and Ellie Kraus got four goals apiece and Sam Ellis and Natalie Miller both chipped in with three goals for Radnor, which hosts No. 16 Great Valley in the second round Thursday. Senior Steph Parcell scored for Interboro (9-7) and finished the season with 86 goals and had 274 in her four-year varsity career.
  • Ridley 14, Methacton 3 - The host Green Raiders (11-8) got three goals from Jenna Massimo and Shaela Allen to qualify for a second-round game at Strath Haven. “Our girls played well,” Ridley coach Beth Bryan said. “They came out and played two solid halves. They played with intensity and played smart. They possessed when they needed to possess and pushed when they needed to push.”

  • Shipley School 13, Friends' Central School 12 (3 OT) - Shipley's girls' lacrosse team overcame a seven-goal deficit with three minutes left in the second half to down visiting Friends' Central, 13-12, in a double-overtime Friends Schools League semifinal playoff thriller. Brie Blumenthal capped the remarkable comeback by scoring the winning goal with 14 seconds left in the second overtime. The Gators (16-4), who got four goals from Brooke Truskey and three goals and four assists from Tara Stokes, trailed, 8-1, at the end of the first half and 12-5 with three minutes left before rallying. In the other league semifinal, host Germantown Friends remained unbeaten in the league with a 19-6 win over Westtown as Lydia Kring scored eight goals and Iris Williamson had a similar scoring impact (five goals, three assists). The two schools will play Saturday at 2 p.m for the title.

  • St. Joe’s Prep 10, Moorestown (NJ) 7 - Brendan Glynn had five goals and Ian Correia added two goals and one assist as the No. 2 Hawks improved to 13-1 with the victory over their South Jersey foes. Kenny Lankford had a goal and two assists and defender Steve O'Hara had 10 groundballs for St. Joe’s. Moorestown is 9-6.
  • Abington 14, Hatboro-Horsham 13, OT - The National Conference champion Ghosts (15-3) tied the game with less than 30 seconds left to play in regulation and took it in OV over the rival Hatters (14-4). Hatboro-Horsham had scored five unanswered goals in the final quarter to turn a 12-8 deficit into a 13-12 advantage. Both teams host District 1 playoff games today as Abington faces Plymouth-Whitemarsh and Hatboro entertains Spring-Ford.
  • Easton 10, Parkland 9 - Ryan Scott capped a brilliant comeback with the game-winning goal with less than three minutes to play as the Red Rovers edged Parkland to advance to the Lehigh Valley Conference finals against Emmaus. Easton trailed, 9-6, heading into the fourth quarter. Luke Snyder had several key saves in the final 90 seconds to preserve the win.
  • Emmaus 15, Allentown Cath Central 3 - Alex Kuehner collected three goals and three assists and Dan Kinek had threegoals and an assist as Emmaus dominated Allentown Central Catholic, 15-3, Monday at Nazareth and advanced to the finals of the Lehigh Valley Conference boys’ playoffs. Emmaus (15-4) will face Easton, a 10-9 winner over Parkland, in the finals Wednesday at Nazareth at 7 p.m.

La Salle, which led, 8-0, at half time, hosts Archbishop Wood today in a battle between divisional leaders. The winner gets the North’s top seed in the District 12 (Catholic League) playoffs, which begin Friday.

It was the third title in the last five years for the Golden Bears, who dethroned last year's champs in the process. Merion Mercy last won the title in 2007. Casey Rooney and Emily Corcoran each added three goals for the Golden Bears (15-4), who had to hold on for the win after leading, 15-12.

  • Bishop Shanahan 12, Council Rock South 1: Goalie Ryley O'Keefe held Council Rock South scoreless in his three quarters of work as Bishop Shanahan (5-10) posted the nonleague victory. Jake Farrell, Joe Mustilli, and Ethan Lowry turned in solid efforts defensively for the Eagles. Keegan Lawton led the offense with four goals and two assists, Mike Thompson had thrree goals and two assists, and Jim Stanley handed out a pair of assists. Council Rock South goal: Boyd.   • Conestoga 6, Ridley 4 - The Green Raiders (10-6) gave the Pioneers a real run, but they broke out with four goals in the fourth quarter. Before then, Ridley goalie Scott Kellett had held Conestoga (15-1) at bay, finishing with 18 saves. For Ridley, Tyler Johnston scored twice and Eric Streicher and Sean Kane also scored. Six players scored for the Pioneers, including Ryan Lord's game-winner.

  • Shipley 7, Methacton 3 - Shipley scored three unanswered second-half goals to beat visiting Methacton, 7-3. The Gators (13-3) got three goals from Matt Gagnier and two more from Mike Litner, who also added a pair of assists. Teammate Jack Tanenbaum had 14 saves in goal.
  • St Joseph's Prep 5, Haverford School 4 - Playing on Saturdays evidently agrees with the St. Joseph's Prep lacrosse players. A week ago yesterday, the Hawks handed Palacrosse.com's No. 1 team in the state, Conestoga, its first loss of the season, and yesterday they used a Ken Correia goal to win a nonleague game at No. 5 Haverford School, 5-4. In between, though, the now top-ranked Hawks (10-1) suffered a 6-4 loss to rival La Salle High, their first of the season, which came on Tuesday. In the win over the Fords, Brendan Glynn and Colin Fleming each scored a pair of goals.

Allen’s huge goal was her fourth of the game. Jenna Nassimo added three for the Green Raiders (9-7), and Jackie Donkin had two goals and two assists.
